Inflated self-image is not unknown in that community.

I enjoyed Beat the Reaper, which was a fun book, and Crank, which was a fun movie.

But Leon is a GREAT movie.JD Rhoadeshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07123361739160525998noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9919027.post-14789222728368603992009-11-13T18:42:43.242+02:002009-11-13T18:42:43.242+02:00I agree with you, Patti and you too Juri -- the co...I agree with you, Patti and you too Juri -- the contrast with Leon sounds just as instructive in the case of the Bazell book. Bazell asks us to care about the loss of the cartoon girlfriend as something that matters to the character and the reader, when all she has been to us or him is a spread pair of legs (even when in the presence of her brother's death). The book has energy but is empty of everything else other than a desire for us to be impressed by the author.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10129679848016322251noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9919027.post-15525144027649472812009-11-12T22:28:16.287+02:002009-11-12T22:28:16.287+02:00Good to hear from you, Patti. Can't believe it.Jurihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03021010310386744591noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9919027.post-47312572766440833292009-11-12T22:26:33.161+02:002009-11-12T22:26:33.161+02:00I hated Beat the Reaper.
