As I said some time back, I was reading an Angus Ross novel, The Huddersfield Job (1971). Ross is one of the most realistic British spy writers - this is almost a sort of spy procedural. Nothing fancy, almost no explosions at all, just the routine, and the lead character, the man called Marcus Aurelius Farrow, just wants to have his fish and chips regularly.
Here's the Finnish cover, probably of Spanish origin. The book is called The Darkness of Death in Finnish.
